Lead production operator ( OFFSHORE)
Purpose Of Job:
Operate and carry out production operations and first line maintenance activities as directed by the Production Supervisor on the process and utilities plant in a safe and efficient manner.
Being aware of cost effective utilisation of production and utilities systems and resources in compliance with statutory requirements and company policies.
Provide supervision, technical instruction and guidance to Production Technicians and ad hoc personnel as required.
Area(s) of Responsibility:
Well Head Platform, PUQC Process and Utilities.
Control Room.
Key Tasks
· Medically fit and able to live and work in an Offshore Environment.
Minimum requirements Education: Formal engineering qualifications or trade related studies preferred.
Experience: Ten years minimum offshore production experience. Working with multi-national crew.
Specific knowledge:
· Wellheads including Xmas trees
· Liquid/gas/produced water separation and handling
· Well Testing
· Gas compression and conditioning
· Condensate stabilization
· Metering and associated analysers
· Glycol Regeneration
· Heating and cooling systems
· Fuel conditioning and transport including gas, diesel and aviation fuels
· Flaring, venting and draining
· Sea water and fresh water conditioning and pumping
· Chemical storage and distribution
· Hazard detection including fire, gas, explosion, occupational, and impact risks
· Emergency response including fire fighting and evacuation
· Isolations, Confined space and vessel entry
· AC & DC electrical power
· Inert gas generation, handling and distribution
· Workshop and laboratory facilities
· Permit to work system and Procedures

Key Tasks
- Supervise a multi-discipline team of Production Technicians.
- Carry out Emergency Response Duties and support incident manager
- Provide instruction and guidance to these Technicians to ensure competence development and staff succession.
- In the role of Area Authority ensure that all work is performed according to the conditions outlined on the Permit to Work. Identify hazards and assess and manage risks
- Manage, monitor and report all discharges and emissions in compliance with Environmental limits.
- Support team performance by sharing knowledge and best practices
- Participate in staff training and competency program
- Assist in all activities ensuring that installation safety is never compromised
- Support all activities of the Production and Maintenance departments
- Ensure all work is conducted in full compliance with the KNOC / PSN Safety Management System, including platform safety regulations and positively support all safety initiatives and improvements.
- Provide instruction and guidance in the co-ordination of multi-discipline activities.
- Plan, evaluate and delegate responsibility while retaining accountability.
- Develop training and CBTA packages and coach and train Production Technicians to ensure competence, development and staff succession.

- Have the ability to trouble shoot process and utility system problems

- Must be able to work rotating shift work ( dayshift / nightshift )
- 28 day rotations
